About Me

Massage Therapy is a relatively new endeavor for me, a renewal of an interest that goes back 30 years. I feel privileged to have the time and resources to explore one of the most ancient arts of healing. I came to Massage Therapy as a Pharmacist with over 20 years in the practice. This background has provided me with an understanding of medical science, which, of course, has been invaluable in my current studies of the body. However, Massage Therapy has opened new doors for me, granting me a much more holistic understanding of how the body responds to the world around it. It was a radical step for me to walk through those doors, but I will be forever glad that I did.

I am particularly thankful to the wonderful folks at the Professional School of Massage in Langhorne, PA, where I completed my basic and advanced training (500 hours). This training includes extensive training in Swedish Massage, Connective Tissue Massage and Sports Massage as well as the anatomy, physiology and pathology studies needed to support this work. It also includes coursework in Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Energy Work, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascia Therapy, Process Acupressure and Medical Massage.

My massage techniques are continually evolving. More recently, I completed 100 hours of coursework in CranioSacral Therapy at the School of Shiatsu and Massage at Harbin Hot Springs under the guidance of Jim Gilkeson. This allows me to provide Therapeutic Massage that is customized to the needs of my clients. A typical session might include the light touch of CranioSacral Therapy for those who are unable to tolerate deep work or are more responsive to the subtle nature of this work, deep and superficial Myofascial Therapy for those with chronic pain or soreness, or Sports Massage for those involved in active exercise or competitive sports. Since I use a holistic approach to Therapeutic Massage, a session may involve a variety of styles and techniques.
